Used BOPS Davis Standard/Marshall & Williams cast film production plant. Still installed and operational, producing 14,000 tonnes per year.
Maximum film width 3,270 mm (128.7"), maximum thickness range 130–650 micron (5.1–25 mil). Fractioned film width range 270 to 1000 mm (10.6"–39.4").
Finished film max 3.3 m (130") maximum 2.0 m (80") minimum. Line output 3,780 lb/hr finished product, estimate 8% edge trim.
Plant was new in 1999 and shut down in March 2018.
Main equipment installed in the plant is as follows:
8" 36/1 L/D Davis Standard single-screw extruder, driven by 700 HP motor with vented barrel, including continuous belt screen changer and Maag melt pump. Max output 4,200 lb/hr.
60" wide EDI Autoflex, fast gap die with restrictor bar and 6" deckling each side available.
64" Marshall & Williams three-roll stack with 18" OD, individually driven rolls.
64" Marshall & Williams MDO (Machine Direction Orienter) including its heat transfer system.
Marshall & Williams TDO (Transversal Direction Orienter) with gas-fired oven. Material inlet width 30–60", material outlet width 90"–140". 5–100 fpm slow side / 15–300 fpm fast side.
Stretch ratio: MDO 1:1 – 3:1, TDO 1.5:1 – 4.6:1
Surface corona treating station.
Approximately 130" wide coating station for application of silicon and anti-fog formula, dryer/heater.
Approximately 130" wide primary turret winder.
130" John Dusenbery duplex slitter with AC motor-driven individual multi-station rewind arms with centre/surface-assisted rewinding. Maximum 40" OD rolls.
Cumberland 18" x 36" edge trim granulator with nip roll feed. 60 HP primary motor and blower discharge.
Roll packaging station, scale and labelling machine.
MCC control system, speed and frequency variators, cooling towers and silos.
Conair "Compu Dry" desiccant dryer.
