Cane Sugar Crushing Mill Tandem

Description

Used 2000 tpd comprising a 30”x60” five-mill tandem originally manufactured by STEWART (GLASGOW) circa 1938, complete with headstock, rollers, open gear sets and bed beams, and accessories such as bearings, trash and scraper plates and inter-carriers.

Overhauled during 2010 and 2012 and re-commissioned in 2013.
A UPS installed in 2012 for the governor has already burnt out; the reason for this is still to be determined.

Mill Lubrication System
All four mill and gear bed bearings are lubricated by an automatic FARVAL system with two 1.5 HP motor-driven oil pumps, complete with piping and fittings.
Installed circa 2001.

Mill Hydraulic System
This system was upgraded and mostly replaced during 2011.

Mill Waste Water Pump
WALLWIN non-chokable 8”x6” centrifugal pump, type 4S-HRH-11, # 29320
Belt drive motor: CROMPTON GREAVES 20 HP / 975 rpm

Mill Roller Regrooving Lathe
MANNING MAXWELL & MOORE metal lathe, 20’ bed length
Probably dates back to 1938.

Mill Crane
3-ton capacity overhead crane, 60’ wide running on 108’ long beams.
Long travel motor drive – 5 HP, hoist motor drive – 20 HP
Overhauled during 2011.

Any of the crushing mills, turbines or gearboxes could be sold individually.
