New 2002 and operated for around 1 year. Unit’s processing capacity is of 100.000 to/year raw material and up till 32.760 to/year road bitumen. Bitumen is produced as a result of processing the fuel oil obtained in the atmospherically distillation unit (DA). The fuel oil heated in a furnace is distilled in a vacuum column with the help of ejectors and condensers arranged in three stages. The products obtained after distillation are light Vacuum Gas Oil (VGO), heavy VGO and vacuum residue. Vacuum residue underwent oxidation in an oxidation column in the presence of the air supplied by a compressor, and thus road bitumen is obtained. In the years 2006 and 2012 the plant underwent overhaul, when all equipment and their internal structures were checked; the thickness was also measured.
