Dry Chip Bunkers :
Two dry chips bunkers feed this unit, one has about 8,000 lbs. capacity the other 1000 lbs. ( 1000 LB is sitting above extruder ).
Extrusion :
One 90mm Barmag 24:1 extruder (vintage 1971 new std. screw and barrel 7/5/00), with a 60 Hp DC brushless drive, gearbox has a ratio of 17.2 :1, 80 rpm maximum speed. Five heating zones, plus throat cooling loop. Electrically heated transfer line to a 8 position, 600 mm gauge, Zimmer type spin beam ( 1971 vintage ), spin beam and internal polymer transfer lines are dowtherm heated. Each position has a pump block for two dual port 2.4 CC/rev pumps
( Feinpruef ), each pump feeds two ( 2 ) 79 x 79 mm packs, polymer pump motor of 4 hp and gearbox of 75:1. Polymer melt pressure and temperature monitor points. Each spinneret has 72 holes arranged in a three groups of 24 holes, total 12 ends per position. Controls, individual temperature controllers for each heat zone, plus extrusion pressure control. One a/c inverter to drive the polymer pump drive motors, one motor drives two pumps.
Quench :
One quench cabinet per pos. 12 inches wide by 36 inches long. A 36 inch binded screen pack is used to feed quench air to filaments. Metered stream finish application on a variable position tree one pump 0.08 cc/rev pump per position ( 12 ports ).
Take Up :
Godet pedestal stand for one 150 mm plasma coated godet. One air jet box, dual jets per threadline, Slack and Parr, 1.8 mm orifice, solid mount.
Over the winder 150 mm godets, two per position.
Two rows of winders two high ( frame made locally ), Barmag SW4 ( vintage 1971 or mid 1980’s ), 3 end per chuck, 170 mm traverse. Mechanical speed 4,000 m/minute, running speed for product 2,800 m/minute winder maximum package size is 360 mm. Current bobbin is 75 mm id x 190 mm long x 5 mm thick. Total winders in this line : 32. One traverse a/c inverter and one drive roll a/c inverter for all winders.
Capacity :
Current line is set up to run 12 end per position or 96 ends per 8 position machine, this gives a gross output of about 272 lbs. per hour (40 denier POY). Line can run from 30 to 70 denier multifilament POY fibers.
