Methanol Plant with Capacity Approximately 260 Tons/Day

Used methanol plant commissioned in 1976, shut down in 2016 and still installed. Original design capacity was 49,500 TPY, but was increased to 82,500 TPY. Daily capacity is 260 TPD. Process uses natural gas as feedstock with added carbon dioxide. Produces grade A methanol. Major equipment includes: - reformer (reactor) section - boiler section - natural gas compressor - CO2 compressor - recycle compressor (synthesis) - make-up compressor (synthesis) - distillation columns Plant consumes 203,000 m3/day of the natural gas, 44,500 m3/day of Fuel/gas, 76 tons/day of CO2, 55 MW/day of Electricity, 744 m3/day of demineralized water, 570m3/day cooling water and generates enough steam for the process.
