2800 t/day of cane extraction plant consisting of a three-stage preparation of cane in knives and two fiberizers, a Silver ring Diffuser and five-roll pressure feed mill dewatering station. The set of knives consists of eight blades cutting 10" from the conveyor deck, rotating at 720 rpm and driven by a 200 HP motor. Location of knife is at the head shaft of the second clean cane conveyor above the chute to the first stage fiberizer. Both fiberizers are of Silver engineering design, similar except for hammer and grate formation. Drive on each is a Terry steam turbine developing approximately 1000 HP each, for a normal final speed of 1150 rpm. The Silver Ring Diffuser is size 630 with rated capacity of 150 tons prepared cane per hours at 97.0 extraction. Make-up water and juice are cycled through the cane bed by 18 low-head pumps with two stages of juice heating prior to removal of the raw juice. Dewatering of bagasse achieved by a five-roll pressure feed mill. The 6-1/2 ft. mill has the capacity of 17 tons oven-dry fiber at 47% moisture (approximately 125 tons prepared cane per hour). Drive on the mill is a 750 HP Elliott turbine. Press return is screened over a static screen, injection heated and pumped to a 24 ft. diameter, over Wier clarifier and returned to diffuser cycle. Subject to final release by the owner.
