78.7" Wide (2M) Latex Coating Line

Description

Used 2m (78.7") Wide Latex Coating Line for the production of latex-based carpet tile backing and attaching it to a carpet tuft. The line was used for continuous operation with sewn rolls.
Condition: Still installed, last run in November 2023
Line speed: 85 ft/hr (25.9 m/hr), capable of up to 120 ft/hr (36.6 m/hr)
The line was reportedly fully rebuilt and installed in 2007 by Textile Systems.

Uses "puddle" and "dip & squeeze" application methods.

Was used to apply water-based latex coating but reported compatible with solvent-based coatings.

Drying Section:
12-zone oven (12 top & 12 bottom)
Heat sources: Gas and infrared
Normal operating temperature: 500°F (260°C) (capable of up to 750°F (399°C))
PLC-controlled with Allen Bradley drives
Cooling section with tension chain and pins (spare set included)

Winder & Cutting:
Tail of the line is equipped with a shear for cross-cutting the final product into sheets.

Includes spare motors, tension chain set, and additional spares.
J-Pan and foamer removed but still on site.
