Dual Media Sand Filter

Description

Used dual media sand filter. 60" diameter x 60" sidewall. Carbon steel construction. 100 psi working pressure. Epoxy lined. 150 gpm service flow, 250 gpm peak, 300 gpm backwash flow, 60 scfm air scour flow, 50 gpm rinse flow. Support bed consists of: 1/2" x 1/4" gravel 3" deep LUS lower head bottom layer; 1/4" x 1/8" gravel 3" deep second layer; 1/8" x 1/16" gravel 3" deep third layer. Filter media is No. 1 anthracite 15" deep top layer; 0.45–0.55 mm filter sand 15" deep bottom layer.

- Retained imperial units as commonly used in engineering contexts in the UK.
- Used 'psi' instead of 'psig' as 'psi' is more common notation in British English for pressure (psig can be used but psi suffices).
- Replaced 'X' with lowercase 'x' for dimensions.
- Wrote out ordinal numbers (2nd, 3rd) in full as 'second', 'third'.
- Replaced '#' with 'No.' for anthracite grade.
