Take Up Dry Chip Bunkers : One dry chips bunker feed this unit, capacity in the order of 2,500 lbs. Extrusion : One 75mm Barmag 30:1 extruder ( vintage 1988, std. Barmag LTM mixer screw ), with a 100 Hp A/C motor, gearbox has a ratio of 17.2 :1, 80 rpm maximum speed. Five heating zones, plus throat cooling loop. Dowtherm heated transfer line to a 8 position, 600 mm gauge, Zimmer type spin beam ( 1971 vintage ), spin beam and internal polymer transfer lines are dowtherm heated. Each position has a pump block for two 4 port planetary pumps 1.2 CC/rev per port ( Zenith ), each pump feeds one ( 1 ) 158 x 79 mm pack, polymer pump motor of 2 hp and gearbox of 75:1. Polymer melt pressure and temperature monitor points. Each spinneret has 96 holes arranged in a four groups of 24 holes, total 8 ends per position. Controls, discrete with temperature and pressure set up. One a/c inverter to drive for the polymer pump drive motors, One A/C drive for extruder motor. Quench : One quench cabinet per pos. 12 inches wide by 36 inches long. A 36 inch binder screen pack is used to feed quench air to filaments. Metered stream finish application on a variable position tree one 0.08 cc/rev pump per position (8 ports ). Take Up : Down tube, air jet box located parallel to winder box has dual Slack and Parr jets, with pressure controls and system for pre-heating the air jet supply air. One row of winders two high ( frame made locally 600 mm gauge ), Barmag SW4 ( 600/4, ), 4 end per chuck, 120 mm traverse. Maximum mechanical speed 4,000 m/minute, running speed for product 2,800 m/minute winder maximum package size is 360 mm. Current bobbin is 75 mm id x 150 mm long x 5 mm thick. Total winders in this line : 16. One traverse and one drive roll a/c inverter for all winders, all necessary guides and parts needed to run this winder are in place. Line capacity : Current line is set up to run 8 end per position or 64 ends per 8 position machine, this gives a gross output of about 182 lbs. per hour (40 denier POY). Line can run from 30 to 70 denier multifilament POY fibers.
